Wireless technology is 'cutting-the-cord' for
many traditional applications. Today's advances
are building on this freedom of movement and
creating autonomous distributed 'smart
devices', capable of independent and dependant
motion. Spincraft Engineering is developing
wireless micro-robotics (sub-1 sq.in.) with
'collective intelligence'. Up to ~250 autonomous
robots constitute a collective 'swarm'. They
operate in pairs, teams or on a single basis to
solve motion related puzzles. They are directed
from a Host PC that runs proprietary algorithms.
Multiple swarms can operate in teams dividing
down the tasks into simplistic operations
performed in a coordinated fashion. The 'Spin-plicity'
system employs multi-hop communication, command and coordination
via the ZigBee Technology platform that defines a common standard
of communications for wireless devices. This
system is easily
deployed and environment-aware. The PC
Host is Microsoft Windows 7 compatible and
responds to multi-touch Human-Interface-Devices.
Spincraft Engineering is currently working with
a medical device manufacturer as a
co-development partner. Additional applications
and partners are actively being pursed. We
welcome your suggestions and application
'puzzles' that are in need of a unique solution.
